There’s something undeniably special about capturing love in a space filled with centuries of art and history. When T + J reached out about their engagement session, they shared that New York City held a deep significance for them—it’s where they met, fell in love, and built a life together. Naturally, they wanted their photos to reflect the essence of the city they call home.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art offered the perfect setting. With its grand architecture, sculptural details, and soft, natural light streaming through those iconic windows, The Met provided a quiet, elegant backdrop for intimate moments. We spent the afternoon exploring its galleries, pausing to take in both the art around us and the genuine connection between them. We also sprinkled in some time to walk around Central Park and the Elizabeth Street Garden to capture some of the natural beautify of NYC.

To add a timeless, romantic feel to their session, I incorporated film photography alongside digital. Film brings a softness and texture that elevates each frame—skin tones glow, colors feel true, and there’s a subtle nostalgia that complements the environment beautifully. It’s a medium that invites you to slow down, be intentional, and truly observe the moment. And in a place like The Met, it just made sense.

If you're drawn to artful storytelling and looking to celebrate your love in a way that feels meaningful and personal, a museum session might be exactly what you’re looking for. Whether it’s through iconic architecture, rich textures, or the soft grain of film, we’ll create imagery that feels both classic and completely your own.
